INFORMATION NOTES ABOUT OUR CONGREGATION

 

We are a member congregation of the Genesee Finger Lakes Conference of

the Upstate New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.


PASTORAL CARE

Our pastor is available to serve you and meet your ministerial needs. In times

of sickness or ill health, even if hospitals request the name of your church

affiliation, HIPPA law prevents them from contacting our church office. Please

let either the Pastor or church office know when you are hospitalized or ill at

home.


ALTAR FLOWERS

Those who wish to give Altar Flowers may contact the church office for the

name and phone number of the person responsible.


MEMORIALS

Memorial Fund donations are a means of remembering a loved one through

monetary contributions to the church. These contributions are used

to purchase needed items related to the worship and music needs of

our congregation. Memorial envelopes are available in the tract racks and in the

church office.

 

LIBRARY

In our library, located in the church parlor, you will find many resource books

and aids which will be helpful to you and your family.


HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion is celebrated on the 1 " and 3’'’ Sundays of each month, in

addition to festival days in the church years All baptized adults and children

who have received their First Holy Communion are welcome to the Lord’s

Table


SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday Church School is held for all children (age 3-15) each Sunday morning

at 9:00 a.m. in the educational wing of our facility. Please speak to Pastor

Campbell about enrolling your children in this important Christian Education

Program.


ADULT BIBLE STUDY

Bible Study for adults is held each Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the

church parlor. Based on the Common Lectionary, our class studies the appointed Scripture and its implications for our lives.


FIRST COMNIUION STUDY

First Communion classes for preparation for First Communion are offered to

children in grade 5 (or ten years of age). Classes are conducted by Pastor

Campbell. Please speak to him about enrolling your child or children.


CONFIRMATION STUDY

Confirmation study begins when a child normally enters 7th grade. It is a two

year intensive program of biblical and catechetical studies led by Pastor

Campbell. Please speak to him about enrolling your child or children.


REDEEMER SOCIAL CLUB

The Redeemer Social Club is open to all members and friends of our congregation who desire fellowship, fun, and enjoyment of each other's company. Events are held throughout the year and include a Christmas celebration, an annual baseball game at ESL Ballpark, a winter White Elephant auction and picnic, and more. ALL are welcome!


THRIFT STORE

Our congregation has a thrift store on our premises which meets the need of

our community, with affordable household items, furniture, etc. The Thrift

Store is open weekly on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. – Noon. Donations are

accepted throughout the year and cared for by a host of volunteers. If you

 

OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Our congregation is committed to supporting ongoing community and

regional ministries of outreach and care to our city. Throughout the year we

sponsor a Souper Bowl Sunday, Undie Sunday, School Supply drive, Angel

Tree ministry, and more.  Volunteers are always welcome and

encouraged to

assist us.


VOLUNTEER CHOIR

Throughout the year, a volunteer choir assists musically in worship by providing anthems, preludes and more. For more information, and to volunteer, speak to our Organist.


COLUMBARIUM

on church premises for the ashes of loved ones who have entered eternal life. Much like columbaria at local cemeteries, our church columbarium is cared for with perpetual care intent, and available for both members and non-members. Information on columbarium, costs, and other details can be had by contacting the church office


A.A. MEETINGS
Redeemer Church allows local A.A. Meetings six days each week in our facilities. As an outreach ministry of our congregation, A.A. groups meet Monday through Saturday at 12:00 Noon and on Wednesday evenings at 7:00p.m. Information on those meetings is available by contacting the church office.
